Carol has invented a method of journaling as a way to see more in the environment.  Learn how to keep your own Nature Journal and make thinking like a naturalist a habit.  She will demonstrate how to document the natural world in a personal journal.  Nature Journaling will provide opportunities to see your travel experience or your own back yard in a completely different way.

Kathy is Editor, Publisher and Founder of Washington Gardener Magazine.  Kathy is a life-long gardener from a family of farmers and dedicated gardeners.  Her philosophy is inspiration over perspiration.  Currently, she is President of the Silver Spring Garden Club and on the board of several other clubs and organizations.

Dan Hinnebusch, professional wildlife biologist, ornithologist and environmental scientist will give a talk and slide presentation on our frequent backyard visitor and the garden club's bird, the acrobatic yellow American Goldfinch, Spinus tristis.  Dan will also talk about finches worldwide and Darwin's famous finch studies on The Galapagos Islands.

Gregg Tepper, Director of Horticulture at Delaware Botanic Gardens at Pepper Creek DE, will be giving us a talk explaining how a brand new public Botanic Garden is created from conception to completion.  the presentation will be illustrated with slides of the location, plans, layout, future phases, and planting schemes.  "This inspirational, educational, and sustainable garden will benefit and delight residents and visitors alike."
